How do I get to Ka Xaan Temazcal?
This little Mayan village is 25 minutes north of Tulum and 45 minutes of Playa del Carmen. The only access is through Cenote Dos Ojos, which is in the main road. There are about 2.5 km from here to Dos Palmas.
Since there is no transportation available from Dos Ojos to Dos Palmas the best option to get there is by car, private transportation or taxi. If you take a shuttle bus to Dos Ojos you would have to walk to the town for about 25 minutes. Please, if this is an option for you, wear comfortable shoes and avoid the hottest time (12:00- 4 pm)
What can I do if a need to get out from the Temazcal?

Do I need to prepare myself before taking the Temazcal?
The Temazcal has a mystical meaning and its ultimate goal is to clean and detox our body by releasing negative energy. Through it we can balance the physical and spiritual sides in order to improve our health. So, yes, it´s very important to be physically and emotionally prepared to take a Temazcal. Be ready to get involved and participate actively during the chants and prayers. Wear comfortable clothes and hydrate yourself before the ceremony.
If you got drunk the night before and have a hangover you will probably not enjoy it.
Who cannot participate in the private Temazcal in Ka Xaan Temazcal?
This activity is not recommended for children under 8 since they don´t tolerate heat as much as adults do. You should also avoid the Temazcal if you suffer from asthma, heart disease, high blood pressure and /or claustrophobia.
Is there a longer Temazcal in Ka Xaan Temazcal
Of course. If you want to participate in a longer session you can send a message to or call to the following number . The longer session is about 1:10 hours and it also includes the Mayan Ceremony, Cenote and the regional meal.
